Mr. Appleby’s Updates 10/21/09

Reminders:

• Please try to get the Parent/Teacher Conference Form returned to school ASAP.  I have these forms from 11 students (Thanks!).  I still need the forms back from 9 students.
• Fundraising is going on right now.

Homeroom Assignments:

• Reading Logs will be due next Monday, October 26, 2009.
• Spelling Homework will be due next Tuesday, October 28, 2009. (words have not yet been assigned)
• The next reading and spelling tests will be on Thursday, October 22, 2009.

 

Math Classes:

Recently we used the NetBook Cart!!  We now have a cart with 30 mini laptops.  The students will be utilizing this fabulous resource in many different ways. Last week, the students connected to the internet wirelessly in order to access www.studyisland.com.

The students were excited to use this technology, and they did a nice job handling the machines with care.  Good Job!! 

We have just finished Chapter 2, and we took the Chapter 2 math test.  Overall, I was pleased with the results of the tests.  Please continue to help me by reminding you child to prepare in advance for math assessments.  A great resource for students to use at home is www.classzone.com.  This website was created by the textbook company.  I like to suggest taking the practice test online.
